Go Figure

I for one know that I need to get into a better routine of exercising at least 5 times a week.

I'm glad I'm not alone, it's always nice to have support, someone to encourage and motivate you to keep you going.

That's why we decided to start a new feature called Go Figure!

Every Friday we are going to share tips on exercise, weight loss and health.

We'd love for you to join us and let us know what works for you.

Here are my exercise tips for the week:

Go outside for walks and get the fresh air.

We love to get outside and walk together as a family.

and

Go out and purchase one of these exercise balls.

I try to do 50 - 100 sit-ups 5 times a week.

While I'm doing my sit-ups I have my 5 year old count with me.

I'm helping her learn to count to 100 at the same time I'm exercising.

Now that is multi-tasking!

I do many more exercises on the ball too.
My exercise ball also came with a exercise tape.

This ball comes in handy when you don't have time to
get outdoors and walk nor time to get out to a fitness center.

Please feel free to sign Mr. Linky below and share your exercise tips with us.

Happy exercising everyone! Good luck to you!

I'm attempting to get back in shape, post baby...FIRST, I must be perfectly honest and admit that I absolutely hate to exercize!!!!! SO everything I do must have a bit of ease and fun to it! Here's how:
1. This summer, when I take my 3 boys swimming, I make it a point to be continuously moving in the water.
2. My ONE year old is at the stage where he is beginning to notice everything around him...this makes it more exciting to load him in the stroller and go for a scenic walk.
3. While the two older boys are at soccer practice, I have time to wait...I use this time to walk around the practice park...baby in stroller :)
4. During the winter, I meet with a friend for a chat and stroll at an area mall. The 2 older boys are in school and I only have the baby to roll around with me :)

I need some motivation to get back into work-out mode, too! Glad I'm not alone!!

My husband swears by his exercise ball. And I have to say, his abs show some serious results!

Thanks for reminding me! I do have an exercise ball and I love your multi-tasking idea to count with your child.

Does it count that I have an exercise ball and video but haven't used it in forever!!?? Ugh!

We did get out and moving today though!! I feel better when we have outings that keep us moving!

Morning Song: Actually I go in spurts using mine. I use it for awhile and then get busy with other things and get out of the routine of exercising.
Then think to myself I have to get back into exercising. Then I use it again for awhile. Then the same old same old....stop exercising.
So you aren't alone.

We got outside and walked today too.

I am trying to get in shape and lose a little weight. I just bought a treadmill and have been using that but I also have one of those excercise balls (bought a few years ago for physical therapy). Lately the ball is just a toy for kids that come by but I will have to try to put it back to work too.

I have started this summer to get in shape, I hate to exercise too. I am trying hard to get a least 30 min in a day. Some days I walk, or do a tape of Pilates. I have had 4 C-Sections in 10 years. I have no stomach muscles. I have also cut back on eatting and cutting out pop, just water and a sometimes a diet Dr. Pepper. Today my dad asked me if I was losing so I went and checked. I do not own scales for a reason. Why make me get depressed and eat more by looking at that horrible number. But today I found out I have lost 5 lbs since June. I am taking it slow, so I don't put it back on.

My doula loaned me an exercise ball during my last month of pregnancy. I would do my prego exercises while watching TV - great multi-task, huh? :)

Good tip, Lori!
